Primary Medium: Pastel – Pastel is a medium comprised of pure pigment with a minimum of binder. It was used by artists, Carriera, Cassatt, Degas, Manet, Renoir, Whistler just to name a few. Their paintings completed 100 plus years ago are still as fresh as when they were first painted. It is a very permanent media. Pastels were once considered fragile, but this was due to the papers available at those early years. Pastel papers used today are heavyweight, sanded, acid free papers that are archival.

Solo Shows – Lancaster General Hospital, Lancaster County Art Association, C.X. Carlson Gallery
Special Project – North Museum, Lancaster, PA – in 2006, completed four murals featuring the Susquehannock Riverside to compliment the “Natives of the Susquehannock” Collection Room.
Working with Historic Trust of Lancaster County – painting endangered historic properties for a show in October, 2015.

Artist Statement:
I have always been drawn to the outdoors; I love the light, fresh air and natural rhythm and grace of trees in a breeze . Painting grounds and connects me to our natural world.
